"Stand
Up! A Celebration" -- November
1, 2001
|
"Stand Up! A Celebration" takes place
Saturday Dec 1 at the Ozark Mountain
Smokehouse on Dickson St. Great jazz, featuring Claudia Burson and Jim
Greeson, begins at 6:30, with wine tasting from a unique variety of
sources.
Guests can view the assortment of items available for silent auction,
including hand crafted works by some of the region's most reknown
artisans,
selected items from regional retailers, and other worthy objects and
services.
The buffet menu features favorite dishes of favorite chefs of the area,
truly a taste treat for everyone. Music resumes after a brief
presentation
and the silent auction.
"Stand Up! A Celebration" acknowledges two years of drug
policy reform work
in Arkansas. We'll take note of the recent Arkansas Poll showing 63% of
the
Arkansas people are now in support of legalizing marijuana for medical
use.
We'll comment on the hard work ahead as we strive for greater fiscal
responsibility and a reduction of the harm our current policies cause to
individuals, families, and communities. But mostly, we'll be there to
have
fun, enjoy great music, fine wine, and excellent food -- and maybe pick
up a
unique Christmas gift for someone special.
The cost is a modest $15 per person, or $25 per couple, with two glasses
of
wine included in the ticket. Capacity is limited, so guests are urged to
acquire tickets in advance by calling 501-839-2475 or email Denele
