    World Health Organization Online Reports

    The 2001 World Health Organization (WHO) Conference on Alcohol and Youth offers a group of excellent reports available online. 
     

    Opposition to "Zero Tolerance" in the Schools

    DPEG agrees with the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Bar Association that zero tolerance policies damage our children and undermine American values.

     

    "Zero Tolerance" Study by the Indiana University School of Education

    Recent reports confirm that zero tolerance policies fail to achieve desired results and find no support for harsh discipline in schools. For example, in a report released May 15, 2001, the Indiana Education Policy Center at the Indiana University School of Education, concluded that "zero tolerance" in school discipline is unlikely to improve student behavior or lead to safer schools.  for more info. 

    Youth Drug Use Higher in US than Europe 

    A study on teen drug use in Europe vs. the US, conducted under the auspices of WHO and reported on in the Times, found that teenage drug use is higher in U.S. than in Europe.

    An online drug information, publication organization and support group for parents (family members and loved ones) whose children are in the midst of drug addiction and for parents who have suffered the loss of their precious child to a drug related death

     

    National Coalition for Child Protection Reform

    The members of the National Coalition for Child Protection Reform have encountered the child welfare system in their professional capacities.  Through NCCPR, we work to make that system better serve America's most vulnerable children by trying to change policies concerning child abuse, foster care, and family preservation
